Things I love about my family: the fact that we’re all creative in our own way. My mom sews, I do my myriad craziness, and my dad is a household wizard. He’s been helping me so much with my ongoing quest to be an art seller at outdoor fairs, and he also helps me with my studio. Way back when I was coming back to this area after graduating, he took the desk that was in the basement and threw a new top on it so that I’d have a place to work. And since then, he’s helped with a million and one things.

Beyond that, he and my mom have continued to be amazing, and have found me not one, but two sets of flat files. I will not divulge how ridiculous of deals they’ve gotten on the files, but it’s nuts. I don’t know how they do it.

The trick with this, though, is storing things in the space I currently have. Enter my dad, who has made me the miracle seen below:

Flat Files

Behold the new set-up for my flat files! Base rack courtesy of one M Lang, awesome dad. The bins below the files contain my art fair stock and set-up, and the long white thing there is a folding table that I also use at fairs.

I still have to go through and reorganize the drawers, but check that out. I do a happy dance every time I see it.

Okay, moving on!

The Upcoming Dates page has been updated to reflect that I have been accepted to add my tent to the artists at Richfield’s Art at the Mill on July 27th! The fair runs from 9am until 4pm, and you can find more information on the Richfield Historical Society’s webpage. If you click on the link for a sneak preview of artists’ work, you can find my print “The Visitor” about halfway down the page.

Also to round out something new in July, I want to say congratulations to my friend Angie and her family, who have just welcomed a new addition. They’re up to a quad now: Mom, Dad, BigBro, and LilSis. So welcome to LilSis, and many wishes for a happy and healthy family!
